TAB Needs Your Help

Tokyo Art Beat

Tokyo Art Beat — THE guide to art and design events in Tokyo — needs your help, and has launched a donation drive to help cover the site’s expenses.

From the site:

As the art world struggles against the impact of the global recession, TAB needs your help more than ever. Over 30% of our expenses are supported by grants and donations like yours. These funds support the huge editing, translation & maintenance tasks required to run TAB, as well as help pay for servers and enhancements to the website.

The goal for the drive is to raise 1,500,000 yen by the end of February — details on how the money will be used can be found on the donation page.

I myself have been an avid user of the site since its inception, and would rather not remember the nightmare that was trying to keep up with the art scene in Tokyo before TAB. The site is truly an essential resource for anyone — especially us non-Japanese — who wants (or needs) to navigate this city’s growing number of art and design-related events.
