Although rumors have it that the Tokyo edition of the 100% Design fair will no longer play a part in the city’s annual Tokyo Design Week festivities, here comes Design Tokyo, a new product-oriented design fair set to fill the void.
Unlike 100% Design Tokyo and the rest of the Tokyo Design Week events that happen in the fall, the first edition of Design Tokyo will be held this summer (July 7-9) at Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba.
As stated on the official event website, the fair hopes to attract “25,000 buyers” from all over, and just like 100% Design Tokyo, Design Tokyo has business in mind (unlike the more experimental and artistic leanings of DesignTide).
